By the time it was okay to start selling, I found other work. But I set up shop several times in Central Park and in front of the MET Museum on 5th Ave. I did well (considering that office workers were gone and there were still no tourists). Everyone stopped to check out, and comment on my visual display, which is special. I chose this product category because no other vendors were selling animal figures. It’s all the same stuff out there. This is different. Everyone loves animals and everyone has their favorites. Kids love them. They make great gifts. Perfect for tourists. I priced everything at what I thought the market would bear. I offered a few “deals” (if you buy 3 specific items, you get a break). I resisted cutting the prices from what I displayed. Most people didn’t try to offer less. Of course, that’s all up to you.This is alot of stuff for one person to transport, set up and break down. With two people, it’s much easier. Everything fits easily into the trunk of a car. Great set up for a permanent display.
